Go chill to go harder
Who doesn't want to increase their performance? So why not give this "cool" option a try then!
An Australian study has shown that when cyclists slurped an ice-cold/partly frozen isotonic drink whilst performing, that they pedalled faster and with a lower rate of exertion (felt easier) than if drinks were ingested at room-temperature.
Leading to a cool and amazing extra 10% in performance!
Why? The "slushy" isotonic drink was found to absorb the heat from your stomach and dissipates it around your body. This is crucial as elevations in temperature increase fatigue and impair cognitive ability.
Next time you go to the gym... place your isotonic drink in the freezer just long enough for that "slushy" affect and consume 150-300ml of liquid for every 15-20minutes of exercise.
